Our soul's purpose is healing, achieved through knowledge and meaningful experiences. Relationships are like the gateway to figuring out how to handle ourselves. They illuminate our strengths and the areas where we need to grow. Just as fear and anxiety can signal more profound spiritual or emotional challenges, obstacles in our relationships can act as valuable opportunities, provided we approach them with consciousness and curiosity.
For many years, I faced challenges related to karmic lessons and repeated patterns in my relationships, specifically romantic connections. After some time, it became clear that I could not identify the underlying issues. I often believed that the difficulties stemmed from the behavior of those around me or the circumstances in my life. I was in similar situations, with different partners, yet the same outcomes. My erroneous instinctive response during tough times was to give more of myself, hoping to alleviate the pain and resolve the conflicts.
After one particularly intense experience where I felt I had given everything and the relationship still ended, I was left emotionally and spiritually devastated. The pain was overwhelming, and I struggled to envision a path forward. Then, a year later, I met someone new and felt relieved, thinking I'd found happiness again. But, even in that relationship, I sometimes felt lonely, maybe empty.
After a few months, conflicts reemerged, resembling the patterns I had witnessed for decades. This time, profound fear gripped me more than I had ever felt. I poured myself into the relationship in an effort to improve the situation, but ultimately, it ended again.
It was pivotal when I realized that blaming others for my life's issues was unfair and unproductive. I had to face the uncomfortable truth that I was the one who needed to change. Despite my extensive reading on the subject, I lacked emotional intelligence. This realization sparked a transformative journey, empowering me to take personal accountability for my growth.
I focused on a journey of self-cleansing, shedding negative traits such as envy, insecurity, fear, anger, comparison, imbalance in giving and receiving, rage, jealousy, and impatience. I began questioning my ego and the motivations behind my actions, holding myself accountable when I noticed it creeping in. This commitment to radical honesty was a game-changer, helping me regain control over my life and relationships.
Now, I see my life as a spiritual and emotional learning trip, particularly in the context of my relationships. I've come to understand that the key to managing my romantic relationships better is to focus on building healthy connections with myself and others. This shift in perspective has been transformative, leading me to a place of joy, peace, and happiness.
